State of the Union Visualizer

Brad Borevitz created this tool called State of the Union to visualize keywords from Presidential State of the Union Addresses from 1790 to present. In additon to comparing the keywords by number of uses the graph illustrates the relative importance of each keyword compared to the entire body of SOTU addresses (represented by the vertical axis on the graph). The site provides the full text of the speeches so you can see the words in context and links to relevant wikipedia entries (simply click on the timeline). It is a fun little tool – if you are interested in this sort of thing.
